Said they were from BT Openreach. They were not.

Trying to get me to open EVENTVWR on my PC which displays warnings, they say they'll fix those warnings for me and connect me to the "main BT server".

They requested I go to www.anydesk.com which is a legit site which provides an app that allows you to enter your desktop remotely.

They asked me to download that app which I said I did (I did not), then asked me for the nine digit number I'd see when opening the app. I gave them a false number (438 412 431) as I was interested in what they were going to ask me to do.

They wanted me to give them remote access to my PC but at this point I think he realised it was going nowhere and he hung up.
